390 today had 4 horizon cars in use and the buffer cars included a single door baggage car, amfleet coach and a heritage crew dorm car on the rear #10405

The 10405 bringing up the rear is usually a Beech Grove Hospital Train buffer car.

sorry, they must be desparate. They have used retired heritage diners, viewliner sleepers and even the full dome as buffer axle requirement

You have the dome coming down tonight on 393.Eng 127 leading with an Amfleet,3 Horizons,the dome,and a Viewliner Baggage.

Never a dull train.

I have seen photos of a few of the single level Sleeper/Dorm Cars. At Beech Grove.
To bad Amtrak can't use these cars. On some of Western LD Trains.

The Amtrak 10405 is former Union Pacific Railroad 10-6 sleeper "Pacific Northwest" built by Budd in 1950.

Amtrak by the numbers book shows it as former UP Pacific Terrace.
John would want to set the record straight!
