Passenger Trains > 80 3 Hours Late

80 3 Hours Late

Anyone know why 80 is 3 plus hours late ?

The Amtrak motor took a dive soon after leaving Charlotte and they had to wait for NS to get a replacement with is coming through to Richmond where a new Amtrak P42, reported to be 156, will be added for the run to DC.

Do u know what train 156 got on to go to Richmond from WAS ?

No...
but my guess would be either 89 or 79. Based on how long 79 stayed in Richmond, it was probably this train.

Then what's 79's engine # ? Since 79 had to give up its engine to 80 .

Don't know, but when they know this is happening the mechanical people in Washington will put a second locomotive on a southbound train for this purpose and the intended locomotive for 70 goes on through with the train after the switching in Richmond.

Eng 164 was the culprit that went belly up on 80 yesterday.

156 must have been brought to RVR on 79,it sure wasn't on 89,and I still haven't seen or heard what 79/80's power is,maybe I can nail them coming north today.
