High Iron Travel operated the Front Range Explorer June 3, 2016. Clark Johnson operated numerous private car charters. Belleville, 14/4 sleeper, 800712, Belleville (2nd) car to carry this name), 5C-6 double bedroom sleeper built in 1952 by Budd in Lot #9641-112 to Plan #9534 as CB&Q 451 Silver Quail for the California Zephyr. Sold to Amtrak in 1971 as 2201 (designated as a 11-DB sleeper), later stored until converted to HEP in 1983 as 2220 (2nd). Listed for sale in December 1995 and sold in 1997 to ITAX?, later to MRLX 800712.

Special was on BNSF's Front Range Subdivision running Denver, CO, to Gillette, Wyoming.

That was a great trip. Unique shot with the matched set of Pullmans in IC colors and the Front Range in the background! BSB

Amtrak 57 & 172, P42DC, handled the High Iron Travels Front Range Explorer up BNSF's Front Range Subdivision on a lush spring June 3, 2016 west of Broomfield, CO. Note the Colorado Rockies still had snow on their peaks.
