P051(24) / P050(23 Both delayed 3 Hours account Striking a Truck . No people where in the Truck , They ran after getting their truck stuck on the tracks . There where 142 passengers on board

Probably stolen, no insurance, warrants out for their arrest, or something similar. Seems to be the case in so many hit and run "incidents." I was delayed on 51 several years ago because someone parked a car on the tracks and left it there. CSX had to tow it and get a track inspector before they would let Amtrak pass. The car was probably stolen and the people that did it were probably sitting on a hill side a 150 feet from the tracks waiting to see it get hit.
