two new guys
Author: tc

this morning I caught metrolinks test unit on the pasadena sub and this afternoon amtrak 14 had to set out this set because of the hot box detector stating something was hot. I didn't notice until I was home that the metrolink unit has two differnt mirrors, was that an oooppps?

Where was the set out of the Chargers on the coast? Did they set out the 2 extra P42's with them?

From the "What's seen can never be unseen" department... The Rotem Cab Cars have the same setup, ergo I doubt it's an oops. Looks like the engineer's side is a manual mirror while the fireman's side is a power mirror.

Photos 1&2 are yours, from the threads linked below. The last photo was cribbed from the internet (Sorry, I don't have any Metrolink photos of my own)

Makes sense if there is just one crew member in the cab. The engineer can then adjust the mirror on the fireman side without leaving his/her seat.

I don't think they would be powered mirrors, but you can't really see much from the other side of the cab on normal side mirrors.
