The current/new track layout at Oceanside (rendered in perfect scale) for those wondering where this all fits in. With the new platform in NCTD is tearing out the original platforms and rebuilding them one at a time. I wonder if they'll be doing that everywhere.

It looks like having it around will make the dance routine that occurs when Metrolink, Coaster, and Amtrak are at Oceanside less complex. -j Date: 07/15/17 17:27 Re: New Control Point CP Pacific on Pacific Surfliner route Author: Mudrock It been three weeks that Track 3 has been in service!

Date: 07/16/17 06:12 Re: New Control Point CP Pacific on Pacific Surfliner route Author: Mudrock Metrolink will use it sometimes but now Amtrak is using it for most of its trains until the new platform in front of the station is complete.
Chris Date: 07/16/17 17:42 Re: New Control Point CP Pacific on Pacific Surfliner route Author: ProAmtrak Once that's all said and done no major delays should happen with trains meeting over there with an extra track to store either a Coaster or Metrolink! I rode 785 a few years ago to connect with No. 4 in Fullerton and everything was fine until Oceanside, a Coaster was on one track, Amtrak 591 which was already running late was on the other track which resulted in 785 losing a good amount of time from a great run from San Diego until there!
