One of the good guys at NJ Transit
Author: GenePoon

Someone at Twitter thanked New Jersey Transit for handing out iced
water yesterday at Hoboken. No reason for NJT doing it; not a system
failure. Trains were running close to schedule. It was just a
Friday and it was 97 degrees, and NJT was handing out iced water
at Hoboken Terminal to anyone who wanted some.

The person in the photo is Robert Lavell, VP/GM of NJ Transit Rail.
He's one of the good guys. Whatever else may be going on in New
Jersey with the governor and NJT's funding cuts and pension and
benefits cuts, Lavell and his team have worked hard to keep the
system functioning. Lavell comes from Mechanical but has a good grasp
of operations and customer services. He enjoys being out with the
customers and around the trains. I'm not surprised to see the big
smile on his face, even on a 97-degree day. One of the good guys.

Thanks for posting that. We are often quick to be critical on TO so it is important to also hand out attaboys when something like this occurs.

I don't know the man personally, but just ask train and engine employees what they think of him. He's very pro mechanical dept. and that's all I will say..

Absolutely correct. I'm not going to say more than that.
