Friday train 14 will have out standing food. Not the standard Amtrak foods. Dennis Posted from iPhone Date: 07/27/17 19:42 Re: I made it to Portland Author: renf The Downeaster trains are almost always on time. Is it an accomplishment to get to Portland. The Downeaster service is excellent.

------------------------------------------------------- > OR or ME? I found a clue in the post - both Downeaster and Coast Starlight offer business class, but only one is specifically "lower level." I wasn't going to comment otherwise. Date: 07/28/17 04:51 Re: I made it to Portland Author: Slumbercoach Doesn't train 14 kind of rule out the Downeaster?

You're late to the party (the posts have since been edited for clarity - there are clues for that in the thread, too). Date: 07/28/17 08:16 Re: I made it to Portland on Train 14 Author: andersonb109 How do you know "everyone" enjoyed their trip? Did you talk to all the passengers? "Everyone" is such an overused word. "Everyone's" favorite restaurant. "Everyone's" favorite store. Etc.

So typical for this site...I don't get it. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/28/17 09:55 by wtsherman100. Date: 07/28/17 11:05 Re: I made it to Portland on Train 14 Author: Mudrock Yes I traveled to Portland in the lower level with those leather seats in Business Class.

------------------------------------------------------- > So typical for this site...I don't get it. We can learn a lot about communicating in the Information Age, and I find Trainorders to be a better place for that than the rest of the Internet, which is even more trolling and agenda-driven than I first thought. Here's a read-between-the-lines lesson to put some cynics to ease: "...everyone (that I met and talked to) enjoyed the trip." Mudrock has been an endless enthusiast of trains. He continues to share his enthusiasm despite the trolls and cynics, and I admire him for that, even if I haven't posted replies to many of his reports. Andersonb109 is also an endless enthusiast of trains. I try to look past his in-your-face complaining, and he has posted interesting reports (with photos) so he joins the ranks of TO contributors. I actually agree with him that the use of "every..." can be overrated, especially by agenda-driven people (media, managers, bullies) as a tool of peer pressure - "everyone" is doing it, and so should you (or else). Shame on him if he was criticizing Mudrock, because he has no sinister agenda. The most cynical post in this thread was made by an endless instigator, who has never posted photos here on TO. He seems to relish in sarcastic put-downs, browbeating, and other acts of arrogance that puts andersonb109 to shame. :-) See if you can spot him, and read his short reply again. |
