Is Amtrak is going to blame an old Solari Board for this? NOPE!
Author: GenePoon

30th St. Philadelphia, this morning: See images

Can't blame the "rickety old Solari Board," it's the same on both sides.

Maybe Amtrak should look into the literacy of some of its employees...or
into its hiring practices.

I think we should ban any TO members for life, or at least a month or two, if they ever post a message with a typographical error.😊

Train Order's messages aren't being written by professionals who are getting paid to have accurate information. This was not a typo. Otherwise it would have only been on one side. It is a case of someone now knowing any better. (now doing spell check).

That bride opening must be quite an event!

"Mawr" will still get through. Bryn Mawr is acceptable.

Being that this is an electronic message board whereby the information displayed is typed in on a computer once and then displayed on both sides, you sir incorrect.

At the very least, it shows the message was written by somebody familiar with Bryn Mawr, but unfamiliar with the brid(g)e.

That someone must live in the upper crust Main Line suburbs.

Delair Bridge closing: NJ Transit Atlantic City Line uses the near track and Conrail uses the far track.

And unfamiliar with Atlantic City, and unfamiliar with delays. There are so many things wrong there that it almost seems intentional.

Maybe it was typed really fast and sent without checking for mistakes? If it is a Solari Board what kind of program is available to type this in? It got people's attention though, there are even people in the UK that now know that the Del Mawr bride opening has delyed the Alantic City trains.

Jees, considering all the information that Amtrak employees get to their thousands of passengers a day, I think one small typo is acceptable. Besides, it wasn't a time error or anything more important than an advisory. Complain about something that really needs fixing.

Come on guys. We know Amtrak is on a tight budget and obviously they decided they couldn't afford to buy a vowel:-)

Of course, the issue was not "delyed," is was "Del Mawr Bridge." It's the Delair Bridge. This one barely moves the Solari goof-up meter needle, though. Besides the clerk that posted that based on what he or she thought was said, I bet there are relatively few passengers who know the name of that bridge. "Bridge" and "Open" are probably the only words that matter.

It's much more fun when the board goes bonkers and starts to throw random characters in as the train number and shows trains running from Harrisburg to Montreal.

Please don't post anything that will encourage the powers in charge to retire such a neat antique.

I already own dozens of '30's and 40's waffle irons and can't afford such a magnificent addition.
