No. 3 Service Disruption

Anyone know why No. 3's in a service disruption even though he's on the move heading towards Raton!

Nothing about service disruption now - even shows "on time" out of Raton.

Debris strike. Lead locomotive damaged and set out, BNSF motor sourced to get over the pass. It'll be swapped out for the protect at Albuquerque.

There was no BNSF engine. Train was already over Raton pass when the incident occurred. Second Amtrak engine added at Albuquerque.

No, a single unit can haul 10 cars up the west side of Glorieta, at least per an engineer in the ABQ terminal.

Other day as I saw Amtrak 160 parked near the Abq depot, I wondered if that was necessary these days.
Guess so.

Thing I don't get is why Amtrak took the protect engine out for a while, it's nice to have that instead of paying BNSF an arm and a leg each time they need a unit from them!

I think they needed everything they had to get trains over the road. Now with the Chargers now freeing up some units we may see more available power.
