Passenger Trains > 48 - a car was added?

Recall that on Wed. LAKE SHORE LIMITED #49 left Albany-Rensselaer with just the NY section (8 cars) due to #449 having been involved in a pedestrian strike near Framingham (passengers bussed to A-R). The detector at Ft Plain, NY had reported 40 axles.
When #48 passed the detector just west of Syracuse station, the report was 44 axles. This means that Chicago must have added one car. Unfortunately there are no enroute camera so we won't know WHAT he picked up unless somebody reports. Will be interesting to see if Rensselaer makes up equipment for #448 to Boston this afternoon, or if the passengers will be bussed.

They must have added a snack car of some sort, a midwest-based Am-1 or Horizon, or robbed the Cardinal.

Isn’t it likely the equipment from the trespasser strike train deadheaded to Albany once released from the scene, in order to be in place for today’s 448? Current status is an 8 minute late arrival. Just a guess, but the most likely need for an added car on 48 would be a coach to accommodate passengers who would have been in the Boston section.
