Special movement from Siemens Sacramento factory
Author: KM-ML4000

Got word from a former coworker, Siemens will ship from their Sacramento facility, the first 3 MARC Charger locomotives as well as the first SEPTA ACS64.

Union Pacific will pick up the locomotives sometime on Friday.

Will they stop in Colorado for a testing at the Transportation Technology Center or go directly east?

Straight East, no TTCI testing.

All movements that have gone via Amtrak have been picked up by Amtrak. UP doesn’t go to Philly but somehow freight cars get from CA to PA without them every day.

Is the MARC order still for 8 locomotives? So far I have seen the 80, 81, and 82 outside the Siemens facility.

The special move is to run as the SFLES 01 on the UP. Routing shows to be Florin - Roseville - Sparks - Elko - Salt Lake City - Grand Junction - Denver - Salina - Kansas City - E St Louis.

Wow. That's certainly snarky. Simply answering the question, which seemed a reasonable one to me, wouldn't have required additional keystrokes, or tapping on the phone.

With ten units delivered to Brightline, and additional power to California, the midwest states group, Washington state, and now Maryland, there muse be quite a few in use or testing.

So how many Sprinter units are out the door in Sacramento so far? 35? 40?

You meant to say Charger of course?

I have been on trains in the midwest powered by Chargers. They accelerate amazingly quickly.
