Author: NGotwalt I don’t know where you got that number of seven diners, they have yet to deliver thirteen of the ordered 25 diners. 68000, Albany, 68009-68011 Concord, Dover, and Frankfurt, as well as 68016-68024 have all not yet been delivered or accepted by Amtrak. At current rates, that takes out to August before diner deliveries are completed. Also, there are ten baggage dorms 69000-69009.

Author: jp1822 They should do the Sleepers next, then the Baggage/Dorms. I even have to wonder if Amtrak would be better asking for sleepers instead of Baggage/Dorm cars. Getting just 10 outfits only two routes of the single level long distance trains (e.g. Silver Meteor and Silver Star). Better yet, perhaps Amtrak would consider Silver Meteor (4), Cardinal (2), and Lake Shore Limited (3). Keep a spare at Sunnyside Yard. The Cardinal, with its single sleeper, already gets at least two revenue rooms blanked, leaving fewer rooms for a lone sleeper on the route that is usually at sell-out status.

You can read more of this order here: http://kcstreetcar.org/kcsa-purchase-streetcar-vehicles/ - Jeff Carlson Date: 12/18/17 07:37 Re: What’s next for CAF ? Author: R30A jp1822 Wrote:

Way too late to change the composition of the order. The cars have been built for years now. Date: 12/18/17 08:56 Re: What’s next for CAF ?
