Passenger Trains > Amtrak Excursion

Maybe I missed it, but will ask anyway. Did the planned Shenandoah Express trip completely die out after rejection from NS or did they come out with an alternative route. There was talk of a trip up the Port Road and down to Philly. I am not on it, but would to railfan it if still operating. Please share any info. Thanks

They are asking for pre-bookings so there is a "better chance" the route would be approved. Buy why would anyone book not knowing the route? The second option to Cumberland can be ridden daily on the Capitol Ltd. So why a special train?
