Capitol #738 Charger on the Bridge

...Over the Guadalupe River in Alviso (San Jose), CA, Saturday afternoon.

The second photo was Dec of 1991 before they returned this area to a more natural state.

Going back a little earlier in Dec 191, the inaugural run of the Capitol Corridor service and I believe the debut of the P32s and the Pepsi Can scheme from the East side of the bridge.

Very nice, Jim! I was on that inaugural run as the Oakland Safety coordinator— gosh, over 26 years ago now!!

Thanks Mark. I got an invite to ride it, but in a fit of misplaced dedication to work, followed it as far as the Benicia Bridge and then on to my job in Concord. I guess that wearing a suit while I was at the San Jose station made me look official!

Love all the photos, especially the contrast in equipment. I rode the Horizon cars on the San Joaquin but not the Capitol Corridor. By the time I rode it they were using the California Cars.
