Amtrak should make lemon-aide out of lemons and do storage mail or package service between Chicago and Carbondale. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/15/18 03:48 by joemvcnj. I would venture that the general public does not really care what it looks like. If they bought a ticket I would think they only care about a safe, comfortable, perhaps on-time ride! Would no train look better?? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/15/18 09:18 by 4489. Date: 03/15/18 06:38 Re: The "Salulki" quite a variety of equipment for axle requirem Author: johnbresnahan10 It looks like it could be diner 8530, converted from ex-PRR parlor car "Molly Pitcher"

Date: 03/15/18 11:46 Re: The "Salulki" quite a variety of equipment for axle requirem Author: raytc1944 My bad. 8530 must have been a PRR car built for the "Senator". I was thinking of the "Congressional" diners which were twin-units.

Then again, if forcing Amtrak to ferry unused cars solves the problem why work on it any further. Wonder if they had heat going as well.
