What's The Problem with #48 of the 17th ?

Departed Schenectady at 5:40 pm instead of scheduled 1:53 pm

ETA Albany 2 hrs., 40 mins. late at 605 pm. #448 is ready for boarding.

Private cars and charter trains, of course. Oh, oh, neither of those are on this train. Maybe it's just my presence.

Somehow an SUV got onto the track just east of MP374, about 3 miles west of the Rochester NY station. There is no crossing there and a guardrail and posts seperating the road from the tracks. There is a 30-40 foot gap from the end of the posts to the guardrail that the SUV must have used to access the track. After they got the track cleared, Amtrak continued east. All I can do is speculate as to why she ended up where she did, maybe she swerved to avoid a car coming toward her, I really dont know. At any rate there was no noticable damage to the SUV or the track and the cops let her go. 48 lost probably close to two hours there. mp16 Wrote:
