New SEPTA Sprinters in... Kansas?
Author: bnsfsd70

On Sunday afternoon, I caught a trio of brand-new SEPTA ACS-64 'Sprinters' heading east towards Kansas City between Williamstown and Midland, KS.
The UP 7778 was in charge of the SFLES 19, which included the SEPTA 906, 907, and 908.

Thanks for looking,
- Jeff Carlson

Nice shot. Does UP charge less than Amtrak for delivery? Or does this fall under no more "charter" moves? Really good HP to ton ratio by UP.

Out of Rose Lake (ESTL) IL on CSX 991-22.

Should be somewhere in Ohio by AM Wednesday.

Or still at Avon. Some out there in east let us know!!!

I've got no idea about the various charges involved, but these moves have been going on since December, well before the new Amtrak policy on special moves.

And at least one UP made it into Pennsylvania, with some of these.

Amtrak has carrier agreements that prevent them from moving non-Amtrak operated equipment for a fee. Amtrak could move the equipment for free, but what's the point?
