At least one guy waved when I caught the American View on number 7 at Skykomish last week.

From the looks of the expression of the guy on the left, he was probably trying to tell you to stop taking pictures!

Looks like Rob Eaton of AMTRAK West.

If I'm guessing right I think the guy on the left is D. J. Mitchell VP of Passenger operations for the BNSF.

DJ is the guy in the white shirt, standing. Rich Wessler is on the left (right side of the train).

Those two are responsible for BNSF having the best AMTK service in the country.

DJ also was a big part of the Metra/BN (now Metra/BNSF) commuter service in Chicago.

He still is. He's AVP Passenger Services. The Chicago commuter service is part of his domain.
