Please reallocate the funds to another jurisdiction.

"The project can move forward if Alabama doesn't contribute, Ross said, and actual costs could be less. The eastbound train would simply stop at Pascagoula, Mississippi, rather than continuing into Alabama, he said."

In other words, no one has to worry about a station in Mobile. There are two wyes at Pascagoula.

Just build a big parking lot and you would pick up most of the Mobile passengers anyway.

The people of the south continue to vote against their best interests. Soon no Amtrak will be the least of their worries.

This is a perfect example of why corridors funded by the states don't work,. You often will get a recalcitrant state in the middle.

Not going to Mobile would turn this route into a loser (more so than just financial performance).

People aren't going to drive to Pascagoula. They'll keep going to Biloxi and NOLA.

A lot of people in the Mobile region would find it easier to go to Pascagoula than to downtown Mobile.

So true. Don't expect much from Alabama.

There are some positive signs. Election of Doug Jones, Emerge Alabama, energized and engaged voters.

Last I looked, North Carolina and Virginia with large investments in passenger rail were in the south.

Maybe they don’t want that high gas tax like NC

For what it is worth, here is the Alabama Governor's statement:

Virginia and North Carolina are becoming northern states.

That's a laugh.
