Amtrak is laying out the plan to bus the SW Chief part of the way, and offer a corridor type service on the east and west ends of the run.

So ride it this year, if you have any interest.

Those who hate rail can enjoy the bus rides.

And when is this stupid dumb butt date supposed to be when this stupid decision takes place?

No date set.

Hopefully more news in coming days.

This is why I am so skeptical that the Coast Daylight will return intact.

He wants to bus around the PTC gap that Railrunner can't comply with.

This is terrible news. I absolutely will not ride a bus! I will stay home or take a cruise. Anderson is truly an agent of Satan truly an evil man. His worth as a person is close to zero.

does anybody have a guess as to how long any proposed "corridor route" would be from l.a. to the east?

Does anyone know how many USD are needed to resolve the PTC gap on the SWC run?

Will there be PTC between Albq. and Dalies ? or Albq. and Belen ? That might tell us if Amtrak #3/4 will run into Albq. in this scenario.

Again, thanks for the heads up. No panic here, and I don't need to ask for the source of information. You've had a pretty good record of disclosing reliable info here on TO, but for people who only hear themselves talk, or people who troll, they wouldn't know that anyway.

I'm a patient person, so I'm willing to wait and see if this rumor will become true or not. Amtrak execs have already trolled about the Business Car Beech Grove ("it will be scrapped") so there's absolutely no need to overreact.

Let's hope you post a rumor regarding massive firing of Amtrak managers or elimination of Amtrak Board of Directors one day. It'd be nice to see those people panic instead. :-)
