The Amtrak #1 (20) the Sunset Limited is now running 5+ Hours Late as they last departed from out of El Paso, Texas at 7:23pm ... looks like another daylight morning run in California tomorrow!

Lost it all around El Paso, major CTC failure and with the removal of the crossovers at Tower 196 (west end of Union Depot) #1 had to go all the way to the Rio Grande Bridge and then reverse into the station.

Glad the passengers will get to sleep in rather than being tossed off at 0400 at LA Union Station!

That's sad That's the norm, they used to keep the passengers on until 7 way back in the 90s when 1 and 2 went to Florida, Amtrak needs to change that schedule to later instead of what they do now!

Pro Amtrak,  Amtrak has little control on the arrival of trains at Los Angeles Union Station.

The commuter agency of Metrolink controls the operations at Union Station and does not agree to a later arrival.   Train 3 was "grandfathered" in as its previoius time of arrival.

Too many commuter trains until  9 am or so they claim.

When #1 is operating late, its subject to waiting outside the terminal for track room
