And no, special note for the Trainorders Peanut Gallery: She is NOT in a quiet car......

I see a future potential interest group Amtrak could include; you know these women and men have money, as these machines are not cheap. Goodness knows Amtrak could use the $$$

That would be a great idea. Just as we used to have on-board shoe shining and barber shop, we can now have an on-board tailor to fix those rips, tears, and missing buttons while we are away.

Sewing is becoming a lot art. Fabric stores are disappearing like RR hobby shops, or tuning into craft stores. Nonetheless, modern sewing machines are little computers and getting very expensive.

Yes-and spare clothing items so no one gets "triggered", right?

I sometimes do art on the train, trying to be mindful of space. The ability to do so many things - to even have a tray or table to work with - is a truly unique feature of taking the train. Driving is time wasted, a plane or bus is time cramped with only even room for a book, not even a laptop.

I guess you never ride first class up there in the clouds. :-)

Or economy on any other airline besides Spirit, Frontier or Allegiant.  I have never had an issue using my laptop in any of the big 4 economy's cabin.

The Twitter string is a marvelous example of why I’m not on Twitter.

In the last couple years I have ridden United, American, Southwest, and some others. With a medium sized laptop I have found it hard to get the screen angle up to 90 degrees or past that to make it viewable. The seat in front is always to close. It is hard to productively use a laptop when the screen is angled down from you. This is never a problem on Amtrak.
