The EB not departing Spokane until 9 am (at least) today. Passengers will have beautiful scenery normally tranversed at night.

#28 finally went by Cheney at 8:48am and is going to stop at Lakeside Jct to get a crew off #27 before heading to Spokane. #28 is 9 hours late now, and #27 is going to be 6 hours late. Some good daylight runs!

Amtrak #8 is now lined up to leave the Spokane Depot as of 10:33am.

Looks like dinner on Marias. Departed Spokane at 10:48.

Why the hold up?  Dense freight traffic?

Noticed Saturday's 27 lost a lot of time west of Pasco.

Well first of all #27 and #7 lost a lot of time into Portland and Seattle due to a failed Amtrak unit; the Portland train had a BNSF leader.  This caused the departure of #28 and #8 out of those cities to be several hours late, then #28 was apparently further delayed by a failed drawbar on a freight before arriving in Spokane as per this thread:
