Passenger Trains > 7 Hr Late Lake Shore 48

Left Chicago on time laat night and was at South Bend 12:12 am. Departed South Bend 5;02 am. Was 7.5 hrs. late at Toledo and will arrive Albany almost seven hours late.

Anybody know what happened ? TIA

Pick up truck hit by freight at Elkhart, Unfortunately it was a fatality..

Geez. I don't get all the strikes on the tracks lately..between auto's and pedistrians....How hard it is to look both ways....I don't get it....

Misery loves company -- the NB Texas Eagle is 8rs 45mi late.

Well, at least the passengers could take their time  in the diner to enjoy the wonderful food on board. 

Means 2am arrival in NYPS, after NJT and LIRR have all but shut down until 5am.

Being this late on the Lake Shore, what food did they have to feed for the additional meals  ?  Maybe a call for some fast food ?

Departed Buffalo at 4:57pm. No rioting passengers observed!

Yesterday I saw 48 at Utica, back in full consist. Met two women headed for Worcester on 448 ... I wondered if they were upset the train was about 50 minutes late.  They laughed. Turns out they had come to Utica Union Station for its multi-modal function, to catch a 6:30am bus to Worcester.  At 6:30 no bus showed up, then 7 no bus.  About 7:30 an agent showed up to say there would be no bus because they had no driver.  Their only option was the train, and they were glad for the option, 

So, not all bad travel news is about trains.  People in the first class dining/lounge car looked like they were enjoying themselves. 

Good to have the full consist back -- makes for a great train
