Passenger Trains > Crescent canceled againDate: 10/11/18 15:33 Crescent canceled again Author: steamloco Words out canceled again in DC. Let’s pee off some more traveling people. If it should have been canceled should have been this morning when schools had to close and we had 5” of rain and 50 mph wind in Spartanburg. By the way it made up during the storm till they got into traffic.

Date: 10/11/18 16:16 Re: Crescent canceled again Author: steamloco The main storm went through last night. I think South Carolina is a little closer to Florida than DC. They just missed a chance to make never again riders yesterday so let’s make some tonight. All NS intermodal trains run within 2 to 3 hours of the schedule every day from Jersey and Pennsylvania to Atlanta even when Amtrak was canceled for a week. If you can’t see the big picture I am sorry. If NS won’t let them run get rid of Amtrak, it’s not reliable transportation anymore.

You apparently don't care about the weather more than five miles from your home -- this hurricane is not over with areas of North Carolina and Virginia being hit hard today. Reports from around Farmville, VA are not at all good. The best way to make "never again riders" is to have their train wind up in the ditch after encountering a washout. Date: 10/12/18 07:54 Re: Crescent canceled again Author: bh35226 NS had a washout and mudslide near Danville late yesterday. One track is scheduled to reopen this morning. Can't run when there is not support for the track or mud all over the track!

You do realize 212 of the 11th is running 16+ hours late, due to storm related issues, and won't make it to Hagerstown until later tonight? But the Crescent would run just fine, right? Some of you guys really need to get a clue. Posted from Android Date: 10/12/18 23:54 Re: Crescent canceled again Author: ProAmtrak SP4360 Wrote:

No kidding Posted from Android Date: 10/14/18 09:17 Re: Crescent canceled again Author: engineerinvirginia We need to restore the common carrier obligation in passenger service to the freight roads, then the trains will run in spite of hellfire, because the fredight roads would not want to miss the revenue, however little it would be.
Date: 10/14/18 09:27 Crescent is RUNNING Author: jp1822 CRESCENT IS RUNNING BACK ON ITS 1 to 2 HOUR LATE SCHEDULE.
DONE FOR NOW? GOOD. GLAD NS AND AMTRAK GOT THE ROAD OPEN WITH TRAINS RUNNING! Date: 10/14/18 10:47 Re: Crescent canceled again Author: bioyans engineerinvirginia Wrote:

Please tell us how that would have helped the Crescent in this case, when there was a mudslide, washout, and the tracks were under water. Posted from Android |
