Passenger Trains > Starlight At The SeashoreDate: 11/06/18 20:40 Starlight At The Seashore Author: walstib Amtrak 11 rolls south at Jalama Beach a few minutes after sunset tonight.
The train was running late due to track work south of Sudden. No, I didn't have a Jalama Burger on this visit. Instead, I enjoyed a turkey sandwich from a Lompoc dele before heading out there. SR Was that you on the East end of the platform at SLO on Monday when 14 met 11? Date: 11/07/18 14:15 Re: Starlight At The Seashore Author: walstib I was up above the tracks waving when the train approached. The engineer later said he wondered “why is this guy waving at me,” but then he recognized my car and knew it was me.
And yes, that was me at San Luis Obispo on Monday when 11, 763, and 14 all met there. There were three San Luis Obispo cops there to meet 14. It appeared something was going on with a passenger in the last coach. Two of the cops went inside, and then exited with a passenger in a red shirt. The passenger was carrying his luggage, and not in custody, but it appeared he was escorted off the train for some reason. After he detrained, the other passengers got back on the train. He topped it off with a slew of insults (apparently quite racist in nature) towards the dining car staff. He was ticketed to San Jose, I think, but that will have to wait until another day...
SR Been there, done that. I am SO enjoying retirement! (Amtrak OBS, 32yrs) Date: 11/07/18 16:49 Re: Starlight At The Seashore Author: King_Coal Nice mood video. Thanks for posting
