The Wall Street Journal has an article today about the American military expedition to fight the Bolsheviks in 1918-1919.  The Michigan and Ohio troops suffered from extreme cold, mismanagement by British commanders, and a general neglect by American leaders.  About 200 troops died on the Archangel front before many in the remainder mutinied.
