Metrolink selling Five Locomotives to North Carolina DOT

At the December 14th Metrolink Board Meeting, the Board approve the sale of five F59PH locomotives to NCDOT for $70,000 each. The Board report notes that the NCDOT will use the locomotives for "various alternative fuel demonstration purposes."

The locomotives are sold without prime mover, a requirement of the clean-air financing that helped pay for the replacement F125 locomotives.

Just means you get to put a crate motor in it!
