Passenger Trains > Interesting Delay on Metra BNSF TonightDate: 01/28/19 20:17 Interesting Delay on Metra BNSF Tonight Author: kevink I took Metra BNSF Train 1273 out of Chicago Union Station this evening. Despite being delayed into the station, it managed a nine minute turnaround and left on time. While rolling through La Grange, I spotted a multitude of police and fire vehicles on Burlington Avenue adacent to the La Grange Road Station. I didn’t think much of it since it didn’t affect my ride.
While checking my Twitter feed this evening, I discovered that pretty much all the trains after mine were delayed because someone had driven onto the inbound platform at the La Grange Road Station and proceeded to drop one tire off the edge of the platform and fouling Main 3 (the normal inbound track).
