NYC: Apple looking Hudson Yards
Author: Lackawanna484

Apple is looking at 60,000 sf of space in Hudson Yards. The multi building, multi building project is built over the LIRR yards just west of NY Penn.

Hudson Yards has its own subway station, and will have its own underground walkway to NY Penn.

Several real estate developers aligned with Governor Cuomo, President Trump, and others are lining up lots in and around NY Penn and Moynihan station complex.

11th to 8th Avenue is a lot of underground passageway to police and keep the homeless out. It's been since the 1980's that the Gimbels passageway between 7th and 6th Avenue has been closed, and no entity has stepped forward to restore it, which is an area far more heavily travelled.

There is also a shuttered IND subway mezzanine that runs along 6th Avenue between the 34th and 42nd Street stations, also shut due to security issues.

I've seen this playbook almost two decades ago when tech companies "dabbled" in real estate. Looks like Apple is starting to lose its focus. Let's just leave it at that.
