Incredible - when is the 12 month calendar coming out?  Seriously.

Midday high sun... Saw “Clint Nestell” w/ his “notebook” in a couple of Donner spots today, too.
Wonder if he’s on here as well?!?

That is a mighty fine photo.  Send that to Amtrak.

Um...  thank you, but actually I think it was a photographic rules violation of some sort.  I expect there'll be a fine?  I guess I'll be avoiding my PO Box...

My favorite in B&W photography was the red filter in these situations.  Steve, are you shooting real film or didigtal conversions? Miles away from Donner in a different continent.

Beautiful shot. Right as I clicked on the thread Mr. Blue Sky by ELO played on my computer. Seemed quite fitting.

It’s all digital, and starts out in color, of course.
Back In-the-Day I shot B&W film pretty much exclusively. I still “see” things with a B&W perspective and composition. So whenever I think I can get away with it, I post things in B&W. (I suspect most TO viewers strongly prefer color).

Hey, remember when OBS Train Chiefs used to nail us for opening windows? It had an official Amtrak violation number... a “526” or something like that.
Funny I can’t remember the number- heck, I sure collected my share!

Hahaha— yea, SR, I never got one, but the old Mopac Condrs shut the Dutch door on me once out of Dallas— heyyy, I was just trying to get a pic of Dealey Plaza—lighten up! We went right over the spot where JFK was assassinated which was surreal seeing the Texas Book Depository and the whole scene right before your eyes!

Sometimes you just pay the fine and smile at the result. In photography, first you learn the rules...then you break em!

I am another who enjoys B&W.  Perhaps because we grew up when color was a luxury, we still see in B&W.

Outstanding!  The Amtrak up close and personal publicity photo of the year!
