Does Amtrak also provide > earplugs? Exhaust isn’t an issue when a transition car is placed directly behind the power as in this picture. The issue arises when a car with an upper level end door is in this position, because fumes blowing back along the engine’s roof line find their way through the door. On 27/28 the Superiner lounge is the recipient of this noxious intrusion. Dave Date: 02/17/19 12:23 Re: Texas Eagle in Austin Author: czephyr17 Correct, non-issue with transition car.
I thought the exhaust deflector was installed on the diaphragm of the first car, not on the locomotive? Or is there an alternative design now in use on trains such as #28? Date: 02/17/19 17:46 Re: Texas Eagle in Austin Author: Rover Very Nice Shot !!!

The lounge runs on 27 and 28 and is right behind the locomotive and yes, they put the deflectors up when they can. |
