Passenger Trains > Rebuilt F40PH's In-Transit Chicago AreaDate: 03/14/19 06:43 Rebuilt F40PH's In-Transit Chicago Area Author: kevink Per a local Chicago group, 2 rebuilt F40PH's were northbound on the Indiana Harbor Belt in La Grange, IL yesterday (3/13). Numbers are 221 and 231 and both are painted blue with yellow grabs and handrails, no name or apparent reporting marks. Speculation is that they are former Amtrak locomotives heading to the Ontario Northland. For sure they are not former Amtrak 221 or 231. The 221 is now NPCU 90221 and currently running in Hiawatha Service between Chicago and Milwaukee. The 231 is currently at the Nevada RR Museum in Boulder, NV as reported here: https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4747061,4747281#msg-4747281
