No doubt some animal rights group will end up suing Amtrak.

Be sure to post a link to the story when this happens. Trust but verify, ya know?

Correct, I do not subscribe to their internet version or
buy the printed version. What I used was the information from the headline.

PS: How can it be click bait when I did not post a link???

Opossums are every bit as nasty as a Honey Badger when you get them cornered.

About 10 years ago, I hit an oppossum with my car as it was crossing the road. In the rear view mirror, I saw it stuble a few more steps, then collapsed. I felt terrible.

You see possums pancaked along the road all over the place around here.  A friend of mine from a region that doesn't have them saw one and said "You have the biggest rats around here!"

I lived on the tracks for 15 years. I don't know how many I've seen with their heads mashed flat and the body intact.  Do they like to put their ears on the rails and listen for trains?

Long Island once had a lot of rattle snakes believe it or not. The coming of the LIRR through the Suffolk County Pine Barrens in 1850's took care of that. They liked to stretch out on the warm, shiny rails in the summer.
