Passenger Trains > Varnish On The MoveDate: 05/07/19 09:10 Varnish On The Move Author: walstib I caught this BNSF passenger special moving east through Sprague,Washington last Friday night at sunset. I understand it came east via Stampede Pass earlier in the day.
The second shot is of the same train a week earlier, on Monday, in Seattle. The short dome pictured is the former 1956 Denver Zephyr blunt-end Vista Dome-observation car Silver Veranda. After joining the BNSF fleet a couple of years back, it is now known as the Canyon View. I have yet to see it operate on the end of a train, but I sure would like to. Date: 05/07/19 12:05 Re: Varnish On The Move Author: SilverView SILVER CHATEAU was the sister car to SILVER VERANDA. Chateau was in an accident and ended being scrapped unfortunately. So glad to see Veranda looking good and 'living'. I logged mannnny miles in both cars between Chicago and Denver.
