Passenger Trains > FL: BrightLine vs pedestrian in Lake Worth BeachDate: 05/18/19 17:55 FL: BrightLine vs pedestrian in Lake Worth Beach Author: Lackawanna484 A woman crossing the tracks south of the 12th street crossing was struck and killed by a BrightLine / Virgin Rail train in Lake Worth Beach on Saturday afternoon. She was the second person to die this month while trespassing on BrightLine / FEC right of way. The first was farther south, near Woolbright Road in Boynton Beach. That one may have been a suicide, based on reports.
Fatalities of people driving around gates, going under gates, etc seems to be way down on both FEC tracks and the nearby Tri-Rail. However, people making illegal crossings away from signals continue to get hit. There appeared to be some slow running in some crossing areas on Virgin and there were apologies for that. We were a few minutes late.

One of the articles mentioned an "elderly lady" was killed, per a 20 year old witness. She was 31, per the police. |
