Amtrak #6 in Fraser Canyon
Author: Bnagelcolo16

Last week I photographed Amtrak #6 in Fraser Canyon. Fraser Canyon is a relatively inaccessible canyon between Granby and Tabernash Colorado. Amtrak #6 was on time this day as it followed the swollen Fraser River to its next station stop at Fraser Colorado.

Interesting location. Good info on the trees, looks really bad.

It's all over the Rockies including Cumbres Pass in Southern Colorado.

Maybe somebody needs to get in there and 'rake' the forest, like the man says.

California has done some pre-emptive work in the past but they're going nuts over cleaning up the fuel after last year's Pardise fire.

Sure, it's a National Forest so maybe "the man" needs to tell his Secratary of Agriculture to get it done.

That’s what Yellowstone looked like in the 80s, before the firestorm. All that fuel, still, standing up, makes for one hell of a fire.

And yes, Cumbres Pass is due for a big one.

Did we ever get a resolution on this? We know Trump said of the Finns, they "spend a lot of time raking" the forest, an observation he attributed to Finnish President Sauli Niinistö. But Niinistö said they never discussed "raking" the forest, nor did he know what that meant. The Finns laughed and laughed about this for weeks. #winning
