Passenger Trains > #6/8 -- NOW what?Date: 06/09/19 19:59 #6/8 -- NOW what? Author: lowwater It's apparently been stuck at Fraser (Winter Park Amtk station) since about 4:30, after arriving 'only' 0:42 late.
UPDATE: On the move finally, showing 5:40 late out of Fraser. UPDATE #2: I take that back. AT 10:48 PM MDT it's still shown at Fraser. Lined out, for what it's worth, in any case stay tuned. Author: sums007 From another board: a freight broke down inside the Moffat Tunnel to cause this delay..

Incidentally, in strict obeyance to the rule "Late trains get later", it is now (8:44 PM MDT 6/10) in mid-Iowa, 14:20 late. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/10/19 19:45 by lowwater. Imagine the fumes inside that very long tunnel! Big risk to the crew!! Date: 06/10/19 21:41 Re: #6/8 -- NOW what? Author: ProAmtrak And don't forget limited access in the 1ST place, I bet it was a long night!

Posted from Android Date: 06/11/19 05:52 Re: #6/8 -- NOW what? Author: johnambrose From what I have read YES the tunnel has been outfitted with the means to have the radios operational inside. And I do believe locomotives are required to have Scott Air Packs for crew use in situations just as this.
And I would like to think that if a train broke down or otherwise stalled in the tunnel that the dispatcher could activate the smoke clearing fans to assist in removing noxious smoke Posted from iPhone Date: 06/11/19 07:17 Re: #6/8 -- NOW what? Author: WAF There was a tunnel channel when it was DRGW-SP and there are air paks in the rescue bays along the tunnel wall
