FL Lake Worth Beach to identify train death "hot spots"
Author: Lackawanna484

The feds have awarded the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office a grant to work with the FEC, BrightLine, and Tri-Rail to address the problem of people getting killed and injured on the tracks.  45 people were killed or injured on the rails in the county in 2018.

The town of Lake Worth Beach is the starting point.

Okay, let's put up your ideas as to why people die at Lake Worth Beach:

- Sunstroke
- Can't read English
- Margaritaville

There's a letter to the editor this morning, calling the grant "foolish".  And, wondering why people don't know enough to stay of the tracks.

I haven't been counting, but the deaths in  Broward - Palm Beach - MiamiDade seem to include quite a few apparent suicides.  Including one guy who was giving the finger to the train as he disappeared from camera view.

With continuing decline of IQ in America, expect more incidents.

Time to quote George Carlin (who had wise comments on many issues)
“This item demonstrates how stupid the average American is.  Every ninety minutes someone in this country is hit by a train.  A train, okay?  Trains are on tracks; they can’t come and get you.  They can’t surprise you when you step off a curb.  You have to go to them.  Got that?”
