Passenger Trains > Amtrak work train in the ground, Odenton MDDate: 07/12/19 12:10 Amtrak work train in the ground, Odenton MD Author: PC1974 This follows just days after the work train burned in New Jersey...
Link is: https://cbsloc.al/2JS8R3Z Poor Herzog, Poor Amtrak.... “Trains traveling between BWI Marshall Airport and New Carrollton, Md. are currently experiencing very minimal delays following an earlier issue with disabled maintenance equipment in Odenton, Md. Crews are working to make repairs and there were no injuries or track damage,” Amtrak told WJZ in an email. Imagine that, disabled train with no track damage according to Amtrak!!! There are multiple Herzog rock cars on their sides! Can anyone say BOONDOGGLE.... Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 07/12/19 12:21 by PC1974. More fake news from Amtrak (like the departure board showing the Hoosier State departing from Chicago a day or two ago).

Fortunitely tracks #2 & #3 at this location are farther away from track #1, allowing trains to still pass by.

Was there a MOW derail on the OOS track that someone forgot about and shoved over? Seems odd.

Classic rookie mistake: unloading stone for the high side shoulder, and forgetting you have to even out the load in the car or they fall over. Like the guy at the lumber yard unlaoding the bulk head flat, take the stacks of plywood off the near side, call hulchers, pick the car up and unload the orther side...
I understand there was a newly minted foreman n charge of the unloading. He won't make that mistake again. irhoghead Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Curious as to how we explain this derailment?
