Pacing The Pacific Surfliner Along The Pacific
Author: suvart

Decided to post one of the better clips I’ve captured along the SP Coastline. The camera is pacing Amtrak 763 along the bluffs just east of Capitan siding.

Great Video, The waves coming ashore really add to the video.  Thanks for posting.

Thank your for sharing.
This is a very good look at the seawalls along the base of some of the bluffs that the SP built in the 1920s.
In my Civil Engineering mind, I dont' think they have harmed the environment and have saved enormous costs and impacts by preventing erosion damage to the railroad and highway.
Would that the gentle citizens of Del Mar could adopt such a plan.....in my dreams but just something to show what is technically possible.

Last Sunday I rode a Charger powered Surfliner from Solana Beach to Fullerton and back. I was very pleasantly surprised by the noticeable increase in the acceleration of these locomotives. It seems to be a very positive move for Amtrak for a change. The pairing of Siemens and Cummins technologies are a winning combination.
