Sunrise in Allegan County with crossing gates

Here is Amtrak train 371 about 7 miles south Holland Michigan at sunrise.   The shot was taken from the west side of the train, but the gates add to the feature.

Train speed limit is 65 MPH.  The Federal Railroad Administration is fine with 79 MPH, but in 1984 the State of Michigan 'Negotiated" a 65 MPH speed limit.  There are many opportunities between Grand Rapids and Chicago to increase the speed to 79 MPH and gain at least 20 to 30 minutes.  FRA is fine with the plan, but CSX balks.
