Passenger Trains > Charger Lincoln Service meet at Lincoln, IL / Schedule AnamolyDate: 09/15/19 03:55 Charger Lincoln Service meet at Lincoln, IL / Schedule Anamoly Author: robj Lincoln Service train NB, St. Louis to Chicago is scheduled at Lincoln at 8:00 while the SB is slated for 8:02. Obviously this can't happen on the single track at the station.
1 & 2) Waiting I could see a NB signal red over yellow so set up for the north train 306 pulls in to station ontime displaying Lincoln Service. Fencing on right extends thru town. 3& 4) about 25 mnutes later the St. Lous train slows for stop dislayng Chicago. Thinking about the schedules, it does make sense, if the South train is a little late the north train can make its station stop on time and get into the siding for the SB train. Anyway I heard them talk as they passed so assume the siding is just north of Lincoln. I didnt check it out, for my time it was already dark, probbly not enough light and poking around in the dcark can be a problem. Bob |
