Cotton Belt Project DMU Maintenance Contract
Author: milepost20

Stadler has been awarded a 15 year maintenance contract by Dallas Area Rapid Transit covering the
eight Flirt DMU's ordered by DART from the builder last year.  They will be used on the Cotton Belt
Regional Rail Silver Line, a 26 mile route between DFW Airport and Plano due to open in 2022.

Connections will exist with TEXRail at DFW and with three of DART's light rail lines.  Fort Worth & Western
has freight rights on this former SSW line.  From today's IRJ:

Maybe it will be too much to ask.

But I wouldnt mind seeing one of these DMUs in the Cotton Belt Paint Scheme

Looking at that posted map, I really wish they could extend that Denton A-Train one stop to Downtown Carrollton it would make so much sense for the transfer.
