A Cold Night in Wilmington
Author: cr2581

SEPTA train 2530 bound for center city Philadelphia provides additional lighting to a cold, windy night in Delaware as Amtrak train 50, with the Veterans locomotive leading, makes a brief station stop.

Enjoy !

Hopefully, "all" the passengers at Wilmington are now on board either of the trains, otherwise a lonely sight.

Nice shot! I've heard Amtrak police there are strict for non-passengers on the platform. Is that true in your experience?

I'm a retired employee with valid credentials occasionally asked to take photos for company publications. I can't say one way or another what someone else's experience might be if challenged. The platforms at all Amtrak stations are patrolled. Always best to obtain permission if possible.

Congrats on IOTD.  Great lens work.   Send that to Amtrak.

Amtrak police have not bothered me much on the platform, if you don't stay too long, use a tripod or take suspicious pictures (like trucks, couplers, undercarriage etc).  They typically do not check tickets before proceeding to platform.

When Joe Biden or Jill were in office they would be with a group of Secret Service, and usually an increased Amtrak or Wilmington police presence ahead of time, but was really not a big deal.
