I'm a retired employee with valid credentials occasionally asked to take photos for company publications. I can't say one way or another what someone else's experience might be if challenged. The platforms at all Amtrak stations are patrolled. Always best to obtain permission if possible. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 01/21/20 16:41 by cr2581. Amtrak police have not bothered me much on the platform, if you don't stay too long, use a tripod or take suspicious pictures (like trucks, couplers, undercarriage etc). They typically do not check tickets before proceeding to platform. When Joe Biden or Jill were in office they would be with a group of Secret Service, and usually an increased Amtrak or Wilmington police presence ahead of time, but was really not a big deal.
