LA Union Station
Author: PHall

Went through LA Union Station today and saw a few things.
Traxx Restaurant is back in business. They weren't open at 1PM on a Sunday, but Traxx Bar was open and doing some pretty good business too.
The nasty restrooms next to the shoe shine stand are finally being renovated. Let's hope they can get rid of the stench.

Traxx is under new onership with a simpler but good menu and lower prices. The made on the spot crab cakes are to die for!

I don't think the Traxx restaurant has ever been open on Sundays, at least not in recent years. Thankfully the bar has a decent food menu!

Well if Subway, Wetsels Pretzels and Starbucks isn't your thing there's a lot of good food right across Alameda St over on Olvera St.

I have dumped money at all three of those places!
That Starbucks must be one of their top grossing stores!
I had a Wetzel dog that was really good.  First time I had ever heard of that chain.

Don't forget about the ever popular Philippe's just across the street and down a block.

Question: at LAUS, who get the rental revenue from restaurants/fast food tenants: LA Metro, Morlin the station's real estate management Co. or both?

Ultimately, rent goes to LACMTA, since they (for Los Angeles County) own the property. But it could be passed-thru & skimmed by other people just like any other property rental situation.

You could ask LACMTA.

YES!!!  Beef n swiss dip "wet", potato salad, pickled egg, two lemonades and tapioca pudding for dessert...    Hit the restrooms, look at the model trains in the back room, buy a t-shirt and then back to LAUS for more railfanning.

Philippe's is wonderful. A mandatory stop when we are in SoCal!
