Passenger Trains > FL Transportation Comm to look at BrightLineDate: 02/26/20 19:50 FL Transportation Comm to look at BrightLine Author: Lackawanna484 An advisory commission will take a look at BrightLine. At the request of State Sen Debbie Mayfield (R) a long time opponent.
Other than screen time, I'm not sure what will be achieved. The feds, the state, Wall Street, and many courts have all plowed this field. https://www.tcpalm.com/story/news/local/shaping-our-future/all-aboard-florida/2020/02/24/virgin-trains-discussed-florida-transportation-commission-rail-safety/4855518002/ Posted from Android Date: 02/26/20 21:59 Re: FL Transportation Comm to look at BrightLine Author: JohnM If they ever build a station at Del Boca Vista (phase 2,) I'll move to Florida.

Not to mention efficient and a pleasure to ride. It's the idiots that can't keep their cars and bodies off the tracks that need to be regulated. Not at all the train or the railroad's fault.

Ms Mayfield represents Indian River County, which has been a hotbed of anti-BrightLine sentiment. She has opposed the state and federal bonding assistance, what IRC described as a "rushed" environmental study, etc. Her work on the subject has been chronicled here on TO for a decade. She may not be able to stop the project, but she can slow it considerably. Date: 02/27/20 21:55 Re: FL Transportation Comm to look at BrightLine Author: MojaveBill Republicans don't like trains...
