FL Transportation Comm to look at BrightLine
Author: Lackawanna484

An advisory commission will take a look at BrightLine. At the request of State Sen Debbie Mayfield (R) a long time opponent.

Other than screen time, I'm not sure what will be achieved. The feds, the state, Wall Street, and many courts have all plowed this field.

What is wrong wth these people? The trains are perfectly safe. Not to mention efficient and a pleasure to ride. It's the idiots that can't keep their cars and bodies off the tracks that need to be regulated. Not at all the train or the railroad's fault.

Let's form a Go Fund Me account for this lady, which she can only use to take her and her grandkids on a Brightline ride!  And then we hope of course that her grandson LOVES trains.........

This is a private funded enterprise.

Ms Mayfield represents Indian River County, which has been a hotbed of anti-BrightLine sentiment.  She has opposed the state and federal bonding assistance, what IRC described as a "rushed" environmental study, etc.  Her work on the subject has been chronicled here on TO for a decade.

She may not be able to stop the project, but she can slow it considerably.
