Passenger Trains > What happened to Palmetto #89Date: 03/19/20 13:05 What happened to Palmetto #89 Author: twropr Left Washington at 10 am and departed Alexandria, VA at 2:56 pm. This is normally a 15-17 min run.
#79, #194 and #156 made normal running times between these points, so something must have happened to #89 On a positive note, I have not seen as many mechanical breakdown this month as previously(?less patronage/less trouble). Andy Date: 03/19/20 14:11 Re: What happened to Palmetto #89 Author: GenePoon This is Amtrak, so the answer is that the engine broke down shortly after leaving Washington DC and a rescue unit had to be sent.
That's not a joke... EDIT: 89(19) has the AMTK 7 and 182. I'm guessing that the 182 crapped and the 7 was added ahead. Edited 4 time(s). Last edit at 03/19/20 17:20 by GenePoon. |
