28 is basically empty
Author: Pacific5th

Deadheading from Pasco to Spokane and 28 is pretty much empty. Only one coach is open and it’s maybe 20% full. Only one passenger got on in Pasco besides the dead head crews. Not sure what the sleeper looks like but the lounge is just a few BN guys. Pre Corona the train was always pretty full with plenty getting on and off at Pasco and Spokane. Another rail said the other night they gave the 7 BNSF crews there own coach and only one passenger got off with them in Spokane.

Who wants to go anywhere right now? If you're not home you home you would have to eat in a hotel room. I can think of better places to be than riding a public transportation system.

I can't imagine anyone riding these trains either. There's "stay at home orders" across a number of states right now, particularly where many trains are originating from and terminating in. I can understand keeping some transportation flowing in the country, but I think they really need to make some further cuts. Crews and general workers are no doubt reduced across the system. Has a 15 to 25% pay cut at the executive level been enacted? Even if it is three times a week service, or just one train a day on routes. Even China shutdown parts of its transportation network..........

        What constitutes 'basically' anyway. 20 people is not empty. Basically empty would be 'e m p t y' . . . . . basically.

basically

Look at definition "B".  20 people on a long distance train would be, for the most part, empty.

20 = 0 is basically, for the most part, railfan math.

"Has a 15 to 25% pay cut at the executive level been enacted?"

Oh that is funny. They will probably give themselves bonuses for their great leadership through the tough times.
